SEE ALSO...

IFN-α/βRα Antibody (E-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects IFN-α/βRα in mouse and rat samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-IFN-α/βRα antibody (E-12) is available in both non-conjugated and multiple conjugated forms, such as agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates. IFN-α/βRα plays a crucial role in the immune response as part of the type I interferon receptor complex that mediates the antiviral effects of interferons α and β. These interferons are vital for initiating an immune response against viral infections by activating signaling pathways that lead to the expression of antiviral proteins and enhance the overall immune response. Binding of type I interferons to IFN-α/βRα triggers a cascade of intracellular signaling events, primarily through the activation of the Janus kinase 1 (JAK1) and signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) pathways, which are essential for the regulation of genes involved in immune defense. Structural integrity of IFN-α/βRα is critical for function, as any alterations can significantly impact interferon binding and signaling pathway initiation, thereby influencing host susceptibility to viral infections.
