IFI-35 Antibody (E-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects IFI-35 (Interferon-induced 35 kDa protein) in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IFI-35 is a 286 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in the cellular response to interferons, particularly IFN-α, by modulating the expression of various target genes. IFI-35 is primarily localized in the nucleus and is expressed in key cell types, including macrophages, fibroblasts, and epithelial cells. Notably, IFI-35 is a leucine zipper protein that can form homodimers; however, IFI-35 is unique among its family as it does not bind DNA. Upon stimulation by IFN-α, IFI-35 interacts with N-Myc-interacting protein (Nmi), leading to the formation of a high molecular weight complex that is believed to be integral to IFN-α signaling pathways and subsequent cellular responses. This interaction also protects IFI-35 from proteasomal degradation, ensuring its availability when needed during the immune response. Additionally, two isoforms of IFI-35 arise from alternative splicing, which may contribute to its functional diversity and regulatory mechanisms within the cell. Anti-IFI-35 antibody (E-7) is an essential tool for researchers studying the intricate roles of interferon signaling and its implications in various biological processes.
