IdeE Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects IdeE from S. equi strains H70, MCGS10565, and 4047 by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IdeE antibody (A-9) is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. IdeE (A-9) antibody recognizes a protein crucial for the virulence of Streptococcus equi subspecies equi (S. equi), a host-restricted pathogen causing the highly contagious equine disease strangles. IdeE (A-9) monoclonal antibody targets a protein essential for bacterial evasion of host immune response by interfering with immune signaling pathways, enabling bacterial persistence and disease progression. Understanding IdeE function remains vital for developing effective vaccines and treatments against strangles, particularly since young horses with underdeveloped immune systems experience severe symptoms including lymphadenopathy, fever, nasal discharge, and anorexia.
