ICSBP Antibody (H-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects ICSBP (Interferon consensus sequence-binding protein, also known as Interferon regulatory factor 8; IRF-8) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ICSBP plays a crucial role as a transcription factor in the regulation of immune responses, particularly in the signaling pathways mediated by interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) during the differentiation of dendritic cells and macrophages. ICSBP physically interacts with TRAF6, a key adaptor protein that modulates Toll-like receptor (TLR) signaling, facilitating the cross-talk between IFN-γ and TLR pathways, which is essential for effective immune responses. ICSBP has been shown to antagonize the oncogenic Bcr/Abl fusion protein by downregulating Bcl-2, highlighting a potential role in cancer biology. As a member of the interferon regulatory factor (IRF) family, which includes other important proteins like IRF-1 and IRF-2, ICSBP contains a conserved DNA-binding domain that binds to the interferon-stimulated response element (ISRE) and regulates the expression of critical cytokines such as IFN-α and IFN-β, making ICSBP a vital component in the immune system′s response to pathogens.
