ICAT Antibody (5C6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ICAT protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ICAT antibody (5C6) is available as the non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. ICAT protein plays a crucial role in regulating the Wnt signaling pathway by directly interacting with β-catenin, thereby inhibiting its association with TCF-4 and blocking β-catenin–TCF-4-mediated transactivation. This regulatory function is particularly important as ICAT has been shown to suppress tumor cell proliferation, making ICAT a potential target for cancer therapies. Additionally, ICAT induces G2 arrest followed by cell death in colorectal tumor cells, highlighting ICAT′s significance in cancer biology. The structural characteristics of ICAT include a three-helix bundle and a C-terminal tail, which are essential for ICAT′s interaction with β-catenin and regulatory functions. The gene encoding human ICAT is located on chromosome 1p36.22, further emphasizing ICAT′s relevance in genetic studies and potential implications in various diseases.
