Datasheets
  • I-FABP Antibody (E-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b κ I-FABP antibody provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 101-129 at the C-terminus of I-FABP of human origin
  • recommended for detection of I-FABP of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA
  • m-IgG2b BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for I-FABP Antibody (E-9) for WB and IHC(P) applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with I-FABP Antibody (E-9) (see ordering information below).

SEE ALSO...

I-FABP Antibody (E-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects I-FABP of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-I-FABP antibody (E-9) is available as the non-conjugated form. Intestinal fatty acid-binding protein (I-FABP) plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism, particularly in the absorption and transport of fatty acids within intestinal epithelial cells. I-FABP is predominantly located in the cytosol of enterocytes, where I-FABP facilitates fatty acid uptake from the intestinal lumen and subsequent transport to various cellular compartments for metabolism or storage. Efficient fatty acid transport is vital for maintaining energy homeostasis and supporting cellular functions, especially in tissues with high metabolic demands. The human I-FABP gene is located on chromosome 4q26 and exhibits a polymorphism at codon 54, resulting in two alleles: one encoding alanine and another encoding threonine. The threonine variant is associated with enhanced fat oxidation and insulin resistance, highlighting I-FABP′s importance in metabolic health and disease.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-374482 P appropriate for?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
