    SEE ALSO...

HYPE Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HYPE protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). HYPE (G-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HYPE protein, also known as Huntingtin yeast partner E, is a 458 amino acid single-pass membrane protein that plays a critical role in cellular processes by interacting with the Huntingtin protein, which is implicated in neurodegenerative diseases when mutated. The presence of two tetratricopeptide repeats (TPR) in HYPE suggests involvement in protein-protein interactions, which are essential for various signaling pathways and cellular functions. Understanding HYPE interactions with other proteins can provide insights into neurodegeneration and other cellular mechanisms. The gene encoding HYPE is located on chromosome 12, a region associated with several skeletal deformities and crucial gene clusters that regulate morphogenesis and immune responses. The study of HYPE and associated interactions is vital for elucidating the underlying mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases and developing potential therapeutic strategies.

What blocking solution should I use with HYPE (G-7): sc-515368 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

    Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
