HURP Antibody (E-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HURP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). HURP (E-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HURP, also known as Hepatoma up-regulated protein or DLGAP5, is an 846 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in cell cycle regulation, particularly during the G2/M phase. HURP localization to spindle poles in mitotic cells is vital for proper chromosome segregation, making HURP essential for maintaining genomic stability. HURP is expressed in various tissues, including the testis, colon, bone marrow, placenta, and fetal liver, and interacts with Cdc2 p34, which is important for mediating adherens junction assembly and differentiation in epithelial cells. HURP phosphorylation by ATM or ATR in response to DNA damage highlights HURP involvement in cellular stress responses, while HURP regulation through ubiquitin-induced proteasomal degradation ensures that HURP levels are tightly controlled. Two isoforms of HURP exist due to alternative splicing, which may contribute to HURP functional diversity in different cellular contexts.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-377004 P appropriate for?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
