HuR Antibody (G-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects HuR in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). HuR, also known as HuA, is a member of the Elav-like family of RNA-binding proteins and plays a crucial role in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression. HuR is predominantly located in the nucleus, where HuR binds to AU-rich elements in the 3′-untranslated region of mRNA transcripts, thereby stabilizing them and preventing their rapid degradation. HuR′s ability to shuttle between the nucleus and cytoplasm is vital, as this movement allows for dynamic regulation of mRNA stability and translation, which is essential for cellular responses to stress and differentiation. Notably, HuR is overexpressed in various tumors, highlighting HuR′s importance in cancer biology and making HuR a significant target for therapeutic interventions. Anti-HuR antibody (G-5) provides a reliable tool for researchers aiming to study the expression and function of this critical protein in different biological contexts.
