HtrA2 Antibody (1B3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects HtrA2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP) applications. HtrA2, also known as Omi, is a crucial member of the HtrA serine protease family, playing a significant role in cellular homeostasis by degrading misfolded proteins, particularly during cellular stress. anti-HtrA2 antibody (1B3) recognizes a protein predominantly expressed in the nucleus and known for its ability to undergo autoproteolysis, which is essential for its function in regulating apoptosis and maintaining cellular integrity. HtrA2 exists in two polypeptide forms, with one being an alternatively spliced variant called D-Omi, primarily found in the kidney, colon, and thyroid. D-Omi lacks interaction with the Mxi2 protein due to a modified PDZ domain, highlighting the complexity of HtrA2′s interactions and functions. HtrA2 acts as a chaperone-like protein under normal conditions, emphasizing HtrA2′s importance in cellular stress responses and protein quality control. With conserved structure and functional significance across mammalian species, HtrA2 monoclonal antibody (1B3) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers investigating the roles of this protease in various biological processes and disease states.
