HtrA Antibody (B-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HtrA protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-HtrA antibody (B-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HtrA protein, a member of the serine protease family, plays a crucial role in degrading denatured proteins and regulating cell growth, making HtrA essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis. HtrA protein helps prevent misfolded protein accumulation during cellular stress, which can lead to cellular dysfunction. HtrA is secreted and expressed in various tissues, including osteoarthritic cartilage, and HtrA gene is highly conserved across mammalian species. Human HtrA2, also known as Omi, is a closely related protease that exhibits similar functions and participates in degrading aberrantly folded proteins. HtrA2 is expressed in the nucleus and exists in two polypeptide forms, including an alternatively spliced variant called D-Omi, which is predominantly found in kidney, colon, and thyroid. HtrA2′s unique structure, including a modified PDZ domain, allows specific partner interactions, although D-Omi does not bind to known partner Mxi2. HtrA and HtrA2′s ability to manage protein quality control under stress conditions underscores their significance in cellular health and disease.
