HTLV-1 p24 Antibody (6G9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HTLV-1 p24 protein of HTLV-1 origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). HTLV-1 p24 (6G9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HTLV-1 p24 protein plays a crucial role in the viral life cycle as a major structural component of the virus′s core, which is essential for the assembly and release of new viral particles. Understanding p24 function is important because p24 not only aids in virus identification but also serves as a target for therapeutic interventions aimed at preventing the progression of diseases associated with HTLV-1, such as T cell leukemia and lymphoma. The human T-lymphotropic virus (HTLV) is a single-stranded RNA retrovirus linked to various health issues, including HTLV-1-associated myelopathy and potential links to other demyelinating diseases. Transmission of HTLV-1 occurs through sexual contact, childbirth, and exposure to contaminated blood, making p24 detection critical for public health monitoring and intervention strategies. Additionally, the differential antibody response to p19 gag can help distinguish between HTLV-1 and HTLV-2, highlighting HTLV-1 p24 (6G9) monoclonal antibody significance in both research and clinical settings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great and clean antibody to detect HTLVThis is a great and clean antibody to detect HTLV-1 p24 protein. I regularly use this product because it can effectively detect either cleaved or full-length Gag from particles collected from MT-2 cells which are chronically infected with HTLV-1.
