HSV-1 ICP0 Antibody (11060) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects the HSV-1 ICP0 protein of viral origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). HSV-1 ICP0 (11060) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The infected cell protein 0 (ICP0) plays a crucial role as a general transactivator for all three classes of herpes simplex virus (HSV) genes, which is vital for the virus′s ability to replicate and establish infection. ICP0 is essential for overcoming the host′s antiviral defenses, as ICP0 disrupts the human BHC corepressor complex, thereby preventing the silencing of viral DNA. This function is particularly important because ICP0 enables viral reactivation from latency and switches to a lytic state, facilitating viral gene expression and replication. Additionally, ICP0 interacts with human centromere protein CENP-A, leading to CENP-A degradation, which further underscores ICP0′s role in manipulating host cellular machinery to favor viral propagation.

Is it possible to use the HRP conjugated form sc-53070 HRP in both Western Blot and IP?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your inquiry. We do not recommend the use of the HRP conjugated form in IP. The unconjugated form of the antibody is the best choice when working in multiple applications that do not use the same conjugation (Agarose, Biotin, HRP, FITC, etc.).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from OK could be betterUsed in HeLa and HEK293T cells infected with WT HSV-1. It worked very well for immunostain detection, the WB was very poor and required a lot of cell extract to get a faint detection.
