HSPC117/FAAP Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects HSPC117/FAAP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-HSPC117/FAAP antibody (C-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HSPC117 protein, also known as C22orf28, consists of 505 amino acids and is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 22, which houses over 500 genes and is the second smallest human chromosome. HSPC117/FAAP plays a crucial role in regulating cell adhesion dynamics, essential for maintaining tissue integrity and facilitating cellular communication. Disruptions in cell adhesion can lead to various pathological conditions, including cancer metastasis and developmental disorders. A highly homologous protein found in rodents, known as FAAP (focal adhesion associated protein), is encoded by the murine D10Wsu52e gene and shares similar functions in cell adhesion regulation. Mutations in genes located on chromosome 22 have been implicated in several serious conditions, such as Phelan-McDermid syndrome, Neurofibromatosis type 2, autism, and schizophrenia, highlighting HSPC117/FAAP′s significance in both basic and clinical research.
