HPV16 E2 Antibody (TVG 271) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HPV16 E2 protein of HPV-16 E2 origin by western blotting (WB). Anti-HPV16 E2 antibody (TVG 271) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The human papillomavirus (HPV) family includes HPV16, a strain significantly associated with cervical cancer cases. HPV16 E2 protein plays a crucial role in regulating viral DNA replication and maintaining infected cell homeostasis. Specifically, HPV16 E2 is essential for transcriptional regulation of E6 and E7 oncoproteins, binding to four sites within the viral long control region and potentially interacting with nuclear hormone receptors. This regulation is vital because overexpression of E6 and E7, often resulting from HPV16 E2 gene disruption during HPV genome integration into host DNA, can lead to malignant transformation in cervical cancer. HPV16 E2 has been shown to induce apoptotic cell death through two distinct pathways: one involving binding of tumor suppressor protein p53 and another through direct interaction with the viral genome, highlighting importance in both viral pathogenesis and potential therapeutic strategies.
