HPV16 E2 Antibody (TVG 261) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects HPV-16 E2 in human samples by western blotting (WB). HPV-16 E2 plays a crucial role in viral DNA replication regulation and maintains infected cell homeostasis. HPV-16 E2 is primarily located in the nucleus, where HPV-16 E2 interacts with viral genome and host cellular factors to modulate gene expression. Nuclear localization of HPV-16 E2 enables regulation of E6 and E7 oncoprotein expression, which are critical for cervical cancer progression. Through binding to specific sites within viral long control region, HPV-16 E2 influences transcriptional activity of these oncoproteins, and disruption through HPV genome integration into host DNA can lead to their overexpression, contributing to malignant transformation. HPV-16 E2 induces apoptotic cell death through interactions with p53 and viral genome, highlighting dual roles in viral pathogenesis and potential therapeutic targeting.
