Hog1 Antibody (D-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Hog1 protein of Saccharomyces cerevisiae origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Hog1 (D-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Hog1 plays a crucial role in the high-osmolarity glycerol (HOG) signaling pathway, which is essential for yeast cells to adapt to osmotic stress. Located primarily in the cytoplasm, anti-Hog1 antibody (D-3) can detect Hog1′s translocation to the nucleus upon activation, where Hog1 regulates the expression of genes involved in osmotic stress response. This translocation enables Hog1 to modulate the transcription of osmo-regulatory proteins, thereby helping cells maintain homeostasis under varying environmental conditions. Hog1′s interactions with various transcription factors and other signaling molecules underscore its importance in cellular adaptation and survival, making anti-Hog1 antibody (D-3) an invaluable tool for researchers studying stress response mechanisms in yeast.

Is this antibody suitable to detect hog1 protein in Candida albicans? I am not getting any signal with this antibody.

This antibody is raised against Hog1 of Saccharomyces cerevisiae origin. Please contact our Technical Service Department and we can help you BLAST the antigen against Candida albicans.

For Western Blot, is it recommended to use denatured or non-denatured conditions with Hog1 (D-3): sc-165978 monoclonal antibody?

First of all, I have to appreciate you for providing it for free. however, I am sorry to tell you that it didn't work in my western blotting experiment. My sample was from the cell extraction of candida albicans, and 40ug of proteins was loaded. After the incubations with antibodies, I used the Odyssey (LI-COR) to detect the hog1 protein, but unluckily, there was no band. In order to exan whether there exists the hog1 protein on the PVDF membrane, I incubate the membrnane with Ponceau S. As a result, I can see the red protein band there clearly. So I don't know whether there are any problems with your product. Hope your reply and suggestions. Thank you again!
