hnRNP C1/C2 Antibody (4F4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects hnRNP C1/C2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-hnRNP C1/C2 antibody (4F4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs) play a crucial role in pre-mRNA processing and transport, binding to heterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA) produced by RNA polymerase II. hnRNP C1 and C2 proteins are essential for pre-mRNA splicing regulation through interactions with splicing factors and influence on splice site selection. hnRNP C1 and C2 contain RNA binding domains that facilitate function in the nucleus, where these proteins predominantly reside, although some hnRNP proteins can shuttle between nucleus and cytoplasm. hnRNP C1 and C2 interactions with other proteins, such as hnRNP A1 and A2/B1, are vital for pre-mRNA processing modulation, as these proteins can antagonize splicing factors and affect overall splicing mechanism. Post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation and methylation, can further influence hnRNP protein activity and interactions, making these proteins key players in gene expression regulation.
