HNMT Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HNMT protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). HNMT (D-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HNMT, also known as Histamine N-methyltransferase, is a 292 amino acid enzyme that plays a crucial role in histamine metabolism, a biogenic amine acting as a neurotransmitter involved in immune responses. HNMT (D-5) monoclonal antibody targets proteins primarily localized in the cytoplasm, where HNMT catalyzes histamine N-methylation, effectively inactivating and regulating histamine levels within cells. This regulation is vital for controlling allergic reactions and maintaining homeostasis in airway response. Genetic variations in HNMT have been associated with increased asthma risk, highlighting HNMT′s significance in respiratory health. HNMT exists in multiple isoforms due to alternative splicing, contributing to functional diversity in different tissues.
