SEE ALSO...

HLA-C Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HLA-C of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). HLA-C Antibody (C-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HLA-C plays a crucial role in the immune response as a member of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecules, which are essential for presenting peptides derived from intracellular proteins to CD8+ cytotoxic T cells. Proper functioning of HLA-C is vital for the immune system′s ability to recognize and eliminate infected or malignant cells, thereby maintaining cellular integrity and preventing disease. Additionally, HLA-C interacts with various immune receptors, including killer immunoglobulin-like receptors (KIRs), which modulate the activity of natural killer (NK) cells. The polymorphic nature of HLA-C contributes to the diversity of immune responses among individuals, making HLA-C a significant factor in transplantation compatibility and susceptibility to autoimmune diseases. Understanding HLA-C interactions and functions is essential for advancing immunological research and therapeutic strategies.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-166088 P appropriate for?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
