HES2 Antibody (H-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HES2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). HES2 (H-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HES2 protein plays a crucial role in gene expression regulation during embryonic development, particularly in the Notch signaling pathway, which is essential for cell differentiation and tissue patterning. HES2 protein is a member of the basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factor family, known for binding to specific DNA sequences and regulating target gene transcription. HES2 protein, along with other HES family members, forms a complex with TLE proteins, which are involved in transcriptional repression. HES2-TLE interaction is mediated by the carboxy-terminal WRPW motif, allowing effective inhibition of transcriptional activator activity. This regulatory mechanism maintains balance between cell proliferation and differentiation, particularly in neural and muscle development. HES2 protein expression occurs in various adult and embryonic tissues, highlighting developmental process importance and potential implications in developmental disorders and cancers.
