HES2 Antibody (A-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects HES2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). HES2 plays a crucial role in the regulation of neurogenesis and myogenesis, functioning as a transcriptional repressor within the Notch signaling pathway. HES2 is primarily located in the nucleus, where HES2 binds to specific DNA sequences to modulate gene expression, thereby influencing cell fate decisions during development. The ability of HES2 to interact with other proteins, such as TLE, the mammalian homologue of Groucho, is vital for its function; this interaction is facilitated by the carboxy terminal WRPW motif of HES proteins.
