Hepatic Lipase Antibody (XHL3-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Hepatic Lipase (HL) of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). Anti-HL antibody (XHL3-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HL plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism, particularly in the hydrolysis of triglycerides and phospholipids, which is essential for proper functioning of lipoproteins in the bloodstream. This enzymatic activity is vital for maintaining normal lipid levels and facilitating lipoprotein uptake by tissues, thereby influencing energy homeostasis and cardiovascular health. Dysregulation of HL can lead to abnormal lipid profiles and is associated with conditions such as coronary artery disease, highlighting HL′s importance in metabolic processes. The human HL gene spans over 60 kilobases, contains nine exons and eight introns, and encodes a 499 amino acid protein primarily localized to endothelial surfaces of extrahepatic tissues, where HL exerts physiological effects.
