Hemogen Antibody (C-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Hemogen in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Hemogen, also known as hemopoietic gene protein or erythroid differentiation-associated gene protein, is a crucial 484 amino acid nuclear protein encoded by the human gene HEMGN. Hemogen (C-7) antibody recognizes a protein that plays a significant role in hematopoiesis, particularly in erythroid cell differentiation, vital for red blood cell production. Hemogen is predominantly expressed in hematopoietic precursor cells and can be detected in various tissues and cell lines, including CD34+ cells and K-562 leukemia cell line, as well as in bone marrow, testis, thymus, and thyroid tumors, along with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and various leukemia cell lines. Hemogen expression is tightly regulated; down-regulated during megakaryocytic differentiation of K-562 cells in response to 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate, while up-regulated in normal peripheral blood mononuclear cells by mitogenic stimulation. anti-Hemogen antibody (C-7) is available in both non-conjugated and multiple conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates, making this research tool versatile for studying hematopoietic processes and related pathologies.
