  • raised against a synthetic HDEL peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of yeast BiP (also designated GRP 78)
  • HDEL Antibody (2E7) is recommended for detection of microsomal membrane proteins of mouse, rat, human, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Drosophila melanogaster and Arabidopsis thaliana origin by WB, IP, IF and IHC(P)
  • Anti-HDEL Antibody (2E7) is available conjugated to agarose for IP; HRP for WB, IHC(P) and ELISA; and to either phycoerythrin or FITC for IF, IHC(P) and FCM
  • also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 488, Alexa Fluor® 546, Alexa Fluor® 594 or Alexa Fluor® 647 for WB (RGB), IF, IHC(P) and FCM, and for use with RGB fluorescent imaging systems, such as iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems
  • also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 680 or Alexa Fluor® 790 for WB (NIR), IF and FCM; for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR®Odyssey®, iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems
  • m-IgG2b BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for HDEL Antibody (2E7) for WB and IHC(P) applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with HDEL Antibody (2E7) (see ordering information below).

SEE ALSO...

HDEL Antibody (2E7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects the HDEL protein of mouse, rat, human, and various model organisms including Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Drosophila melanogaster, and Arabidopsis thaliana by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. anti-HDEL antibody (2E7) is available in both non-conjugated and multiple conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HDEL protein, particularly the GRP 78 variant, plays a crucial role as a molecular chaperone within the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), where HDEL assists in the proper folding and translocation of nascent polypeptide chains. This function is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and ensuring that proteins are correctly processed before secretion or transport to final destinations. HDEL (2E7) monoclonal antibody specifically recognizes the C-terminal HDEL sequence, a retention signal essential for protein localization within the ER, and effectively stains HDEL proteins in various plant species, including maize, onion, barnyard grass, beet, cotton, mung bean, sorghum, and wheat. HDEL (2E7) antibody enables researchers to gain insights into protein folding and retention dynamics in the ER, which is critical for understanding various cellular processes and disease mechanisms.
