SEE ALSO...

HBXIP Antibody (H-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects HBXIP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-HBXIP antibody (H-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HBXIP, also known as hepatitis B virus X-interacting protein, plays a crucial role in the life cycle of the hepatitis B virus by negatively regulating the activity of the HBX protein, which is essential for viral replication. HBXIP is evolutionarily conserved and features a leucine zipper motif along with two consensus phosphorylation sites, which are important for function and interactions. HBXIP interacts with survivin, a protein often overexpressed in various human cancers, facilitating survivin′s ability to inhibit pro-caspase-9 activation and thereby promoting cell survival. HBXIP is involved in critical cellular processes such as bipolar spindle formation and the regulation of centrosome dynamics and cytokinesis, potentially through interaction with Dynein light chain. HBXIP overexpression has been linked to increased cell proliferation across multiple cell lines, highlighting significance in both viral pathogenesis and cancer biology.

I am using HBXIP (H-5): sc-373980 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
