    SEE ALSO...

hamartin Antibody (E-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects hamartin in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Hamartin plays a crucial role in the regulation of cell growth and proliferation, particularly in the context of the tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC), where hamartin′s interaction with tuberin forms a vital cytoplasmic complex essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis. This complex acts as a tumor suppressor, and dysfunction can lead to the development of hamartomas, benign tumors that can affect multiple organs, including the brain, heart, and kidneys. The presence of hamartin in these tissues underscores hamartin′s importance in normal cellular function and potential implications in TSC-related pathologies. Anti-hamartin antibody (E-7) enables researchers to gain insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying TSC and explore therapeutic avenues for managing this genetic disorder.

Can hamartin (E-7): sc-377387 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. Yes, hamartin (E-7): sc-377387 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
