SEE ALSO...

HADHA Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HADHA protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). HADHA Antibody (E-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HADHA, also known as Trifunctional enzyme subunit alpha, mitochondrial, is a crucial component of the mitochondrial trifunctional protein complex, which plays a vital role in the final three steps of mitochondrial beta-oxidation of long-chain fatty acids. This complex is composed of four alpha (HADHA) and four beta (HADHB) subunits, with HADHA specifically responsible for the enzymatic activities of 3-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydrogenase and enoyl-CoA hydratase. Proper functioning of HADHA is essential for efficient fatty acid metabolism, and mutations in HADHA can lead to severe metabolic disorders such as long-chain 3-hydroxyacyl-coenzyme A dehydrogenase deficiency and mitochondrial trifunctional protein deficiency, both of which can result in significant health complications. Anti-HADHA antibody (E-8) allows researchers to explore the implications of these deficiencies and the overall importance of fatty acid oxidation in cellular energy production and metabolic health.

I am using HADHA (E-8): sc-374497 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
