GSTP1 Antibody (3F2C2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GSTP1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). GSTP1 (3F2C2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GSTP1 protein, also known as Glutathione S-Transferase Pi 1, plays a crucial role in detoxifying harmful compounds, including environmental carcinogens and lipid hydroperoxides, thereby protecting cells from oxidative stress. This detoxification process is vital for maintaining cellular health and preventing damage that could lead to cancer. GSTP1 protein becomes upregulated in response to oxidative stress, highlighting GSTP1′s importance in cellular defense mechanisms. GSTP1 gene undergoes CpG island hypermethylation, a modification associated with prostate cancer development. GSTP1 gene hypermethylation can be detected in biological fluids such as urine, ejaculate, and plasma from men diagnosed with prostate cancer, suggesting GSTP1′s potential as a valuable biomarker for early cancer detection and screening.
