SEE ALSO...

GSTM1 Antibody (1H4F2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GSTM1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-GSTM1 antibody (1H4F2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GSTM1 plays a crucial role in the detoxification of harmful compounds, as part of the glutathione S-transferase (GST) family, which is essential for cellular defense against toxicants and oxidative stress. Specifically, GSTM1 is involved in conjugating glutathione to a wide range of electrophilic substrates, including carcinogens and environmental toxins, thereby facilitating their excretion and reducing cellular damage. The importance of GSTM1 extends beyond detoxification; variations in GSTM1 expression can influence individual susceptibility to diseases, including cancer, making GSTM1 a significant focus of research in pharmacogenomics and toxicology. Understanding GSTM1 function and regulation is vital for developing therapeutic strategies aimed at enhancing detoxification processes in individuals exposed to harmful substances.
