GRHPR Antibody (D-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GRHPR protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-GRHPR antibody (D-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GRHPR protein, also known as glyoxylate reductase/hydroxypyruvate reductase or GLXR, is a crucial enzyme in cellular metabolism, primarily localized in the cytosol and exhibiting highest expression levels in the liver. As a homodimer, GRHPR is essential for detoxifying glyoxylate, a highly reactive by-product of metabolic processes, by converting glyoxylate into glycolate through a reduction reaction. This enzymatic activity maintains metabolic balance and prevents accumulation of toxic metabolites. GRHPR possesses hydroxypyruvate reductase and D-glycerate dehydrogenase activities, further underscoring GRHPR′s role in metabolic pathways. Mutations in GRHPR gene that hinder protein function can lead to primary hyperoxaluria type II, a serious condition characterized by kidney stone formation, increased urinary excretion of L-glycerate and oxalate, and potential renal failure.
