GRASP55 Antibody (E-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects GRASP55 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GRASP55 (E-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GRASP55, also known as Golgi reassembly stacking protein or p59, plays a crucial role in the structure and function of the Golgi apparatus, a vital organelle responsible for processing and packaging proteins for secretion. GRASP55 is primarily located in the medial-Golgi, where GRASP55 is essential for the stacking of Golgi cisternae, a process critical for maintaining the integrity and functionality of the Golgi structure. GRASP55 is highly homologous to GRASP65 and features two PDZ domains, which are important for protein-protein interactions. GRASP55 undergoes post-translational modifications, including myristoylation and palmitoylation, which are essential for membrane association and function. GRASP55 interacts with the novel coiled-coil protein golgin 45 and the GTP-bound form of Rab 2, forming a complex crucial for normal protein transport and Golgi architecture. Phosphorylation of GRASP55 by ERK2 during mitosis indicates involvement in the regulation of Golgi dynamics in response to cellular signaling pathways, highlighting importance in cellular processes.
