SEE ALSO...

GPT2 Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects GPT2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GPT2 (G-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GPT2, also known as alanine aminotransferase 2 (ALT2), plays a crucial role in amino acid metabolism by catalyzing the reversible transamination between alanine and 2-oxoglutarate to produce pyruvate and glutamate. This enzymatic activity is vital for maintaining nitrogen balance and energy production in tissues, particularly in muscle and adipose tissue, where GPT2 is predominantly expressed. The localization of GPT2 in these tissues underscores its importance in metabolic processes, especially during periods of fasting or exercise when amino acid catabolism is heightened. Additionally, GPT2 expression in the kidney highlights its role in the regulation of amino acid levels in the bloodstream, which is essential for overall metabolic homeostasis. With its diverse applications and critical biological functions, anti-GPT2 antibody (G-7) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying metabolic pathways and related disorders.
