Datasheets
  • GPT Antibody (B-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 κ provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 2-33 at the N-terminus of GPT of mouse origin
  • recommended for detection of GPT of mouse origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • m-IgG3 BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for GPT Antibody (B-1) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with GPT Antibody (B-1) (see ordering information below).

GPT Antibody (B-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects glutamate pyruvate transaminase (GPT) in mouse samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-GPT antibody (B-1) plays a crucial role in amino acid metabolism by catalyzing the reversible transamination between alanine and 2-oxoglutarate, resulting in the formation of pyruvate and glutamate. This enzymatic activity is vital for maintaining the balance of glucose and amino acids in the body, which is essential for energy production and metabolic homeostasis. GPT monoclonal antibody (B-1) is predominantly located in the liver, kidney, and heart, where GPT contributes to the regulation of metabolic pathways. Notably, GPT (B-1) antibody is often utilized as a biomarker for liver integrity and hepatocellular damage in clinical diagnostics, making GPT an important target for research and therapeutic applications. Anti-GPT antibody (B-1) provides reliable detection and quantification of GPT, facilitating studies on GPT′s role in metabolic disorders and liver function.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-271370 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
