SEE ALSO...

GPR56 Antibody (G-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GPR56 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GPR56 monoclonal antibody (G-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GPR56, also known as TM7XN1 protein, is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) family, which is the largest protein family in the human genome and plays a crucial role in mediating a wide range of physiological processes by converting extracellular signals into intracellular responses. This receptor is integral to cell-cell interactions and is predominantly expressed in the brain, heart, and thyroid gland, highlighting its importance in neural and cardiovascular functions. Notably, GPR56 contains a GPS domain and is involved in the regulation of cortical development; mutations in the GPR56 gene can lead to bilateral frontoparietal polymicrogyria (BFPP), a condition characterized by abnormal cortical layering that can result in severe neurological deficits. The ability of GPR56 to interact with various signaling molecules, including hormones and neurotransmitters, underscores its significance in maintaining cellular communication and homeostasis.
