    SEE ALSO...

GPI Antibody (A-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects glucose-6-phosphate isomerase (GPI) in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GPI is a crucial enzyme that plays a significant role in both glycolysis and gluconeogenesis, processes essential for energy production and metabolic regulation in cells. GPI exists as a cytoplasmic homodimer and is also recognized as a neurotrophic factor, particularly important for the survival and function of spinal and sensory neurons. This neurotrophic activity underscores GPI′s importance in maintaining neuronal health and function, as defects or mutations can lead to severe conditions such as hereditary nonspherocytic hemolytic anemia, hydrops fetalis, immediate neonatal death, and neurological impairments. Anti-GPI antibody (A-5) provides a reliable tool for researchers investigating GPI′s multifaceted roles in cellular metabolism and neurobiology, facilitating a deeper understanding of its implications in health and disease.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with GPI (A-5): sc-398381 monoclonal antibody?

    Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
