SEE ALSO...

golgin 97 Antibody (CDF4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects golgin 97 across multiple species through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Golgin 97 is a crucial component of the trans-Golgi network, functioning as a peripheral membrane protein characterized by an extensive coiled-coil structure, comprising approximately 67% α-helical content, and a C-terminal GRIP domain. This unique structure allows golgin 97 to effectively localize to the cytoplasmic face of the Golgi apparatus, where golgin 97 plays a vital role as a tethering molecule that associates with tubulovesicular carriers during trafficking from the trans-Golgi network to recycling endosomes and early endosomes. The interaction of golgin 97 with the Golgi membrane is facilitated by the G protein family member, Arl1, highlighting golgin 97′s importance in maintaining cellular organization and transport. Additionally, during poxvirus infection, golgin 97 accumulates at viral replication sites, where golgin 97 is incorporated into virions, contributing significantly to virus replication and maturation of both viral membrane and core protein. A rod-like shape, despite lacking a transmembrane domain, allows golgin 97 to protrude from the virion envelope surface, underscoring golgin 97′s multifaceted role in cellular processes and viral pathogenesis.
