SEE ALSO...

golgin 97 Antibody (CDFX) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects golgin 97 protein of broad species origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-golgin 97 antibody (CDFX) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Golgin 97, a member of the GRIP family, is a crucial peripheral membrane protein located on the cytoplasmic face of the Golgi apparatus, where golgin 97 plays a vital role in intracellular transport. Golgin 97′s extensive coiled-coil structure, characterized by 67% α-helical content, allows formation of homodimers, enhancing golgin 97′s ability to function as a tethering molecule that associates with tubulovesicular carriers during trafficking from the trans-Golgi network to recycling and early endosomes. Golgin 97′s interaction with the Golgi membrane is facilitated by the G protein family member Arl1, underscoring golgin 97′s importance in maintaining Golgi structure and function. During poxvirus infection, golgin 97 accumulates at viral replication sites, where golgin 97 is incorporated into virions, playing a significant role in virus replication and maturation of both viral membrane and core protein. This unique positioning and function of golgin 97 highlight golgin 97′s critical role in cellular processes and potential as a target for therapeutic interventions.

Can golgin 97 (CDFX): sc-59820 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, golgin 97 (CDFX): sc-59820 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
