SEE ALSO...

GNL2 Antibody (B-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects GNL2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GNL2 Antibody (B-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GNL2, also known as autoantigen NGP-1, NOG2, or nucleolar GTP-binding protein 2, is a nucleolar guanosine triphosphate-binding protein that plays a vital role in the trafficking of proteins out of the nucleus, a process essential for cellular function and regulation. As a GTPase, GNL2 interacts with the 60S preribosomal subunit within the nucleus, facilitating its export into the cytoplasm, which is crucial for ribosome assembly and protein synthesis. The G domain of GTPases, including GNL2, is responsible for the hydrolysis of GTP, providing the necessary energy for translocating proteins across membranes. GNL2 shares homology and some functional characteristics with nucleostemin (GNL3), another nuclear GTPase, highlighting its importance in ribosomal biogenesis. Notably, GNL2 exhibits the highest expression levels in the testis, underscoring its potential role in reproductive biology and cellular differentiation.
