GNL2 Antibody (B-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects GNL2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GNL2, also known as autoantigen NGP-1, NOG2, or nucleolar GTP-binding protein 2, plays a vital role in nucleolar trafficking of proteins, specifically facilitating export of the 60S preribosomal subunit from nucleus to cytoplasm. This process is essential for ribosome biogenesis, which is critical for protein synthesis in all living cells. GNL2 functions as a GTPase, utilizing energy derived from GTP hydrolysis to drive translocation of proteins across cellular membranes. GNL2 contains a G domain responsible for GTPase activity, and shares structural and functional similarities with nucleostemin (GNL3), another important nuclear GTPase. Notably, GNL2 is predominantly expressed in testis, highlighting potential significance in reproductive biology and cellular growth regulation. Anti-GNL2 antibody (B-10) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying ribosome assembly and nucleolar function, providing insights into molecular mechanisms underlying these critical cellular processes.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with GNL2 (B-10): sc-376732 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
