    SEE ALSO...

GMEB-2 Antibody (364C1a) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects GMEB-2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). GMEB-2 (364C1a) antibody is available as a non-conjugated anti-GMEB-2 monoclonal isotype antibody. GMEB-2, also known as glucocorticoid modulatory element binding protein 2 or PIF79 (Parvovirus initiation factor p79), is a vital DNA-binding protein that plays a significant role in modulating transcription in response to steroid hormone activation. GMEB-2 is predominantly expressed in critical developmental tissues, including the testis, bone marrow, placenta, and fetal tissues, and is localized in both the nucleus and cytoplasm. GMEB-2 features a SAND domain at its N-terminus and a coiled-coil structure at its C-terminus, which are essential for function. GMEB-2 operates as a homodimer or can form heterodimers with GMEB-1, allowing the complex to specifically bind to glucocorticoid modulatory elements (GME) in the promoter regions of target genes. This binding is crucial as GMEB-2 recruits the histone acetylase CREB binding protein (CBP) during glucocorticoid signaling, thereby enhancing the sensitivity of cells to low concentrations of glucocorticoids. GMEB-2 serves as an auxiliary factor necessary for the replication of parvoviruses, highlighting importance in both cellular signaling and viral biology.
