Glypican-2 Antibody (F-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects glypican-2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-glypican-2 antibody (F-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Glypican-2, a member of the glypican family of heparan sulfate proteoglycans, is anchored to the cell membrane via a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchor and plays a crucial role in regulating cell adhesion, migration, and proliferation. Glypican-2 is particularly important in the nervous system, where glypican-2 is involved in the motile behaviors of developing neurons. Glypican-2 interacts with midkine (MK), a growth factor that binds to glypican-2′s heparan sulfate chains, promoting cell adhesion and neurite outgrowth. The distinct localization of glypican-2 compared to other glypicans, such as syndecan-3, suggests that these proteins may have different roles in MK-mediated neural functions, highlighting glypican-2′s significance in neural development and signaling pathways.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-393824 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great in rat tissue!Gave a sample of this a try to see if it would work in my paraffinised rat tissue sections and was pleasantly surprised to find that it gave a beautiful label at 1:100 dilution despite being classified as human-only reactivity. Very happy!
