Glycophorin A Antibody (R10) is a high quality monoclonal Glycophorin A antibody (also designated Glycophorin A antibody) suitable for the detection of the Glycophorin A protein of human origin. Glycophorin A Antibody (R10) is available as both the non-conjugated anti-Glycophorin A antibody form, as well as multiple conjugated forms of anti-Glycophorin A antibody, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Glycophorins A, B and C are sialoglycoproteins of the human erythrocyte membrane, which bear the antigenic determinants for the MN, Ss and Gerbich blood groups, respectively. Glycophorins span the membrane once and present their amino-terminal end to the extracellular surface of the human erythrocyte. The genetic array of expressed glycophorin surface antigens on erythrocytes defines the blood group phenotype of the individual. The human Glycophorin A gene maps to chromosome 4q31.21, contains 7 exons which are 97% homologous to Glycophorin B, and encodes a 150 amino acid protein. The human Glycophorin B gene maps to chromosome 4q31.21 and encodes a 91 amino acid protein. The human Glycophorin C gene maps to chromosome 2q14.3 and contains four exons. Glycophorin C transcript can generate two protein isoforms. Isoform 1 includes all 4 exons and encodes the full length 128 amino acid protein. Isoform 2 is missing exon 2 and encodes a 109 amino acid protein, which specifies the Yus subtype of the Gerbich phenotype.

Could you please share the protocol of the IHC staining of the second image that you posted? My humanized mice samples consist of both human and mouse rbc, will this cause any unspecific binding to mouse rbc?

This antibody is recommended for detection of Glycophorin A of human origin. We do not expect the antibody to cross-react with Glycophorin A of mouse origin, however we have not experimentally confirmed this lack of species reactivity.

Can Glycophorin A (R10): sc-53905 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, Glycophorin A (R10): sc-53905 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.

WBWe saw band for Glycopurin A (R10) in the WB of mouse lung primary fibroblast, but it was in the wrong fraction. Instead of membrane fraction, the band was in cytoplasmic fraction. We had negative and positive control for the fraction extraction. The size of the band also was not true, it was about 50 KD. We used anti-mouse IgG1.

it worked.two month ago, i applied for this antibody and used it to detect the protein in Red blood cell sample, in generally, it worked, but instability.
