Glycogenin-1 Antibody (E-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Glycogenin-1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Glycogenin-1 antibody (E-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Glycogenin-1 plays a crucial role in glycogen synthesis, serving as a primer for glucose monomer addition in mammalian skeletal muscle. Glycogenin-1′s unique structure enables autoglucosylation, attaching glucose molecules to itself to initiate glycogen synthesis. The first glucose molecule from UDP-glucose binds to the hydroxyl group of tyrosine 194 on Glycogenin-1, and through glucosyltransferase activity, adds additional glucose residues until forming a chain of five. At this point, glycogen synthase takes over to further elongate the glycogen molecule. Glycogenin-1 remains covalently attached to the reducing end of glycogen, ensuring integral structure and function of this vital energy storage polysaccharide.

Thank you for your question. Yes, Glycogenin-1 (E-11): sc-271109 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections.
