Glutathione reductase Antibody (B-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects glutathione reductase in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Glutathione reductase plays a crucial role in cellular defense against oxidative stress by maintaining high levels of reduced glutathione, a vital antioxidant that protects cells from damage caused by reactive oxygen species. Glutathione reductase is primarily located in the cytosol and mitochondria, where anti-glutathione reductase antibody (B-12) can detect its presence during catalysis of oxidized glutathione reduction, ensuring a balanced redox state within the cell. The ability of glutathione reductase to form a disulfide-linked homodimer and its redox-active disulfide bond at the active site are essential for enzymatic function, highlighting its importance in cellular metabolism and signaling pathways. Glutathione reductase monoclonal antibody (B-12) enables researchers to effectively study the expression and regulation of this critical protein, furthering our understanding of its role in health and disease.
