Glut6 Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Glut6 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Glut6 (B-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Glut6 protein, also known as SLC2A6, plays a crucial role in glucose transport, which is vital for cellular metabolism and energy production. Glut6 is primarily located in the plasma membrane of cells, where Glut6 facilitates glucose uptake by undergoing conformational changes upon binding glucose. This transport mechanism is essential because the plasma membrane is impermeable to glucose, making Glut6 and other glucose transporters indispensable for maintaining cellular energy levels. Glut6 is predominantly expressed in the brain, spleen, and peripheral leukocytes, and Glut6 activity can be influenced by subcellular redistribution, as Glut6 is directed to intracellular compartments through di-leucine motifs and recycled in a Dynamin-dependent manner. Glut6 regulation is particularly important in the context of metabolic activity in tumor cells, where enhanced glucose uptake can support rapid growth and proliferation.
