SEE ALSO...

GluR-1 Antibody (G-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody designed to target GluR-1, also known as GRIA1 or GluA1, which is a critical subunit of AMPA-type ionotropic glutamate receptors. Anti-GluR-1 antibody (G-12) is raised against a peptide near the N-terminus of human GluR-1, ensuring precise recognition of an epitope within amino acids 33-51. GluR-1 is predominantly located at the postsynaptic density of neurons, where GluR-1 plays a vital role in mediating fast excitatory neurotransmission in the central nervous system. Structurally, GluR-1 comprises ligand-binding domains and transmembrane regions that form cation-specific ion channels, essential for synaptic plasticity, learning, memory formation, and overall neural communication. GluR-1 (G-12) monoclonal antibody demonstrates broad species reactivity, effectively detecting GluR-1 from mouse, rat, human, equine, canine, bovine, and avian origins through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-GluR-1 antibody (G-12) is available in both non-conjugated form and multiple conjugated variants, including agarose, phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and several Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for diverse experimental needs. GluR-1 (G-12) antibody enables researchers to achieve accurate detection and comprehensive analysis of GluR-1, thereby advancing studies in synaptic function, neural plasticity, and neurological disorders.

I would like to find a GRIA1 antibody that works in zebra finch. The data sheet indicates that sc-55509 is suitable for avian. What is that based on?

Asked by: crolson
Thank you for your question. This is based on sequence analysis against chicken (Gallus gallus).

I would like to use GluR-1 (G-12): sc-55509 for double staining with another mouse monoclonal primary antibody. Is this possible?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. In cases like this, we recommend using our directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibodies. Currently, sc-55509 is available conjugated to HRP, FITC, PE, Alexa Fluor® 488 and Alexa Fluor® 647. If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact our Technical Service department by calling 800-457-3801 option 2, emailing scbt@scbt.com, or using the Live Chat function on our website.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good in WBTested by WB on mouse hippocampal lysate (1:2000 dilution): 1 prominent band at the expected MW
Date published: 2024-11-21
Rated 5 out of 5 by from GluR1 W. blot application, strong specific bandWe have probed GluR1 in mouse crude synaptosomal fraction. We have detected a single strong band at the expected molecular weight (around 100 kDa).
Date published: 2023-04-13
Rated 5 out of 5 by from high qualityIt is very good. We used about 40ug protein during WB. The concentration of primary antibody is 1:1000 and concerntration of secondary is 1:5000. Exposure time is about 15s-30s. And we can see the band between100 and 120kd.
Date published: 2018-03-09
Rated 5 out of 5 by from works great fThis antibody works great for GluR-1 protein expression detection, using a 1:500 dilution.Specific band at 106kda.
Date published: 2017-09-02
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good antibodyworks good with 1:500 dilution. Signal is OK, clean and moderate. Maybe higher concentration will give better result.
Date published: 2017-07-27
Rated 5 out of 5 by from western blotVery nice western blot results; strong signal, low background.
Date published: 2017-06-03
Rated 5 out of 5 by from strong signalThis is very popular detect GluR-1 for WB analysis, the signal is always strong.
Date published: 2017-05-27
Rated 5 out of 5 by from this antibody is easy to use.I got the GluR-1(G-12) mouse antibody two weeks ago. The mouse hippocampus tissue extracted protein, can be exposed with a band of about 105 kD, extraction of protein from N2a cells did not got the band, with a dilution of 1: 200.
