SEE ALSO...

Glucosidase I Antibody (C-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Glucosidase I protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Glucosidase I (C-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Glucosidase I plays a crucial role in the N-linked glycosylation pathway, specifically catalyzing the removal of the terminal alpha 1,2-linked glucose residue from the Glc3-Man9-GlcNAc2 oligosaccharide precursor in the endoplasmic reticulum. This process is vital for proper protein folding and function, as glycosylation is essential for the stability and activity of many proteins. Glucosidase I functions within the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum, where Glucosidase I interacts with nascent glycoproteins, ensuring correct modification before transport to final destinations. Mutations in the gene encoding Glucosidase I can lead to congenital disorders of glycosylation, such as CDG-IIb, which presents with severe clinical manifestations including hypotonia, dysmorphic features, and neurological complications. Understanding Glucosidase I function and importance is critical for elucidating the mechanisms underlying these disorders and developing potential therapeutic strategies.

Can Glucosidase I (C-11): sc-374006 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. Yes, Glucosidase I (C-11): sc-374006 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
