SEE ALSO...

Gl Syn Antibody (E-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Gl Syn protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Gl Syn (E-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Glutamine synthetase, the target of anti-Gl Syn antibody (E-4), plays a crucial role in the brain by catalyzing the conversion of glutamic acid to glutamine, a process vital for neurotransmitter recycling and nitrogen metabolism. Glutamine synthetase is predominantly found in astrocytes, which are essential for maintaining the balance of neurotransmitters in the central nervous system. Glutamine synthetase in astrocytes not only aids in detoxifying excess glutamate, thereby protecting neurons from excitotoxicity, but also supports the metabolic needs of neurons by providing glutamine, which is a precursor for neurotransmitter synthesis. Glutamine synthetase is also expressed in the liver, where Gl Syn (E-4) monoclonal antibody has shown its contribution to nitrogen homeostasis, and overexpression has been implicated in primary liver cancers, suggesting a potential role in hepatocyte transformation. Gl Syn (E-4) monoclonal antibody′s versatility in various applications makes this reagent an invaluable tool for researchers studying glutamine synthetase functions in both neurological and hepatic contexts.

I am using Gl Syn (E-4): sc-74430 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: Cweed
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

Rated 5 out of 5 by from prodotto funzionanteInizialmente avevo ricevuto il prodotto vuoto, ma l'azienda è stata molto gentile e disponibile, inviandomi nuovamente il prodott. Ho provato questo anticorpo in immunofluorescenza, su fettine di midollo spinale di topo criostatate. Diluizione 1:200 e funziona bene, il segnale è pulito e specifico. Prossimamente lo proverò anche in WB
