    SEE ALSO...

Gl Syn Antibody (E-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects glutamine synthetase in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Gl Syn antibody (E-3) recognizes glutamine synthetase, an essential enzyme that forms a homooctamer and catalyzes the conversion of glutamic acid to glutamine, a critical process for maintaining nitrogen balance in the brain and other tissues. Gl Syn (E-3) monoclonal antibody is predominantly found in astrocytes, where glutamine synthetase plays a vital role in neurotransmitter metabolism, particularly in the detoxification of excess glutamate, thereby protecting neurons from excitotoxicity. The induction of glutamine synthetase expression upon astrocyte-neuron contact highlights its importance in neuroprotection and synaptic function. Additionally, glutamine synthetase is present in the liver, where this enzyme contributes to nitrogen homeostasis, and glutamine synthetase overexpression has been implicated in primary liver cancers, suggesting a potential role in hepatocyte transformation. Gl Syn (E-3) antibody′s versatility in various applications makes this product an invaluable tool for researchers studying the physiological and pathological roles of glutamine synthetase in different biological contexts.
